Description

This article describes an issue where the RADIUS session ‘Last Update Date’ shows an unusually long duration in FortiAuthenticator.

Scope

FortiAuthentivator v6.6.3, v6.6.4.

Solution

The ‘Last Update Date’ value is observed to be approximately 198+ days, which is incorrect, despite the FortiGate interim update interval being configured to 60 seconds.

The ‘Last Update Date’ value increments progressively with each passing day.

Packet capture confirms that FortiAuthenticator is receiving accounting updates from the FortiGate on time, however, the RADIUS session ‘Last Update Date’ in the FortiAuthenticator GUI displays an incorrectly long duration

It is because the rad_accounting daemon is constantly restarting. The issue is fixed in v6.6.7 and v8.0.0.
