Technical Tip: Smart Connect download platform menu does not show for Android 10 and later for WAP2-Entprise SSID

| Solution | Configure the Smart Connect Profile for WAP2 Enterprise under Authentication>portals and define the SSID, and select the EAP certificate configured under Authentication -> RADIUS service -> General.
Assign the Smart Connect profile to the captive portal.
After authenticating via the captive portal, navigate to Smart Connect and select the platform drop-down box to download for Android 10, which will only appear for Android 9 and before.
To have Android 10 or later to show up under the Smart Connect platform, the 'EAP Server Certificate' configured under Authentication -> RADIUS service -> General must match the FQDN of the FortiAuthenticator (i.e., in the CN field of the Certificate's subject or in the SAN fields).
This is because Android 10 or later prevents the network connection installed by the Smart Connect application from establishing an EAP connection. To show Android 10 or later on the Smart Connect platform, generate an EAP certificate with the proper FQDN. |
