Technical Tip: How to restore licensed FortiToken mobile tokens
Description
An unassigned FortiToken Mobile can be accidentally deleted from FortiAuthenticator by Admin.
In the FortiAuthenticator GUI (System -> Dashboard -> Status) will be visible how many tokens are missing.
Note:
Only unassigned FortiToken Mobile tokens can be deleted.
Solution
The 20-character activation code needs to be entered again on the following web interfaces :
- FortiGate: User & Device -> FortiTokens. Select Create New -> Mobile Token, Enter the 20-digit activation code that is present in the license file ,and Select OK
- FortiAuthenticator: Authentication -> User Management -> FortiTokens. Select Create New -> FortiToken Mobile, Enter the 20-digit activation code that is present in the license file ,and Select Save
- FortiGate: Delete the token under User & Device -> FortiTokens and register the license again
- FortiAuthenticator: In Authentication -> User Management -> FortiTokens: select the token, select Edit, select Unlock, then OK.

After re-importing the tokens, they will be added to the list.
Note:
There is no impact to the Assigned tokens during this process.
