Technical Tip: How to Re-enable Expired Account on FortiAuthenticator

Solution

1. First, keep the account in the disabled state and change the expiration date. After, select 'Ok'.

Note: If user enables the account and change the expiration date at the same time, it will give the error 'Please correct the error below' and expiration date will not be updated.

The status will still be 'Expired' but the expiration date will be updated.

2. Enable the account by deselecting 'Disabled'.

Result: The account is now activated.

This can be verified with the log entries under Logging -> Log access -> Logs as well.
