Technical Tip: How to change FortiToken mobile code refresh timer to 30 seconds
Description
This article describes how to adjust the default code refresh timer for FortiToken Mobile, reducing it from 60 seconds to 30 seconds.
Scope
FortiAuthenticator 6.6.
Solution
The following steps can be used to change the timer value:
- Login to the FortiAuthenticator GUI page via 'Admin Account'.
- Navigate to Authentication -> User Account Policies -> Tokens.
- Check Time Step value under FortiToken Mobile Provisioning.
- Select 30 on 'Time step:' and select 'OK' to save the setting as shown below.
This change will only apply to newly provisioned FortiTokens.

To modify the timer for an existing FortiToken, it must be removed from the user account and re-provisioned.
