Description

This article describes the process of replacing a FortiAP 231G access point with a FortiAP 231K unit in the event of a failure. The article explains the compatibility and operational considerations for this replacement.

Scope

FortiAP.

Solution

To replace a FortiAP 231G with a FortiAP 231K, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the FortiAP 231K unit is properly configured to match the settings of the failed FortiAP 231G, including SSIDs and Tx power.

  2. Deploy the FortiAP 231K unit in place of the failed FortiAP 231G.

  3. Note that a new FortiAP profile will be created automatically for the FortiAP 231K unit, as it is a different model.

By following these steps, the FortiAP 231K unit can be successfully deployed as a replacement for the failed FortiAP 231G, with minimal disruption to network operations.
