Technical Tip: How to get a BSSID propagated by FortiGate-managed FortiAPs

This article describes the command to get the BSSIDs propagated by FortiAPs managed by FortiGate.

Solution

To understand the difference between an SSID, a BSSID, and an ESSID, refer to this document: Service Set Identifier (SSID).

On FortiAP's CLI it is possible to check what BSSID the FortiAP is propagating by executing the command below:

vcfg

On FortiGate's CLI it is possible to check what BSSID the different managed FortiAPs are propagating by executing the command below:

diagnose wireless-controller wlac -c vap
