Description This article describes an issue where the 'All Reports' list of built-in and custom reports page is blank in FortiAnalyzer (VM and hardware devices).
Scope

FortiAnalyzer.

Solution

When it is necessary to create a report, there is a list of built-in reports to select from: Reports -> Report Definitions.

There are situations where the report list under 'All Reports' is suddenly blank.

Here are the steps to resolve it:

First, check if the FortiAnalyzer has been downgraded (see Troubleshooting Tip: How to identify firmware downgrade without factory reset on FortiManager) as it may lead to an empty report list and if this is the case, proceed to a proper restore of FortiAnalyzer functionality after a downgrade.

If this is not the case:

  1. Run the integrity check:

diagnose dvm check-integrity

  • After running this command, log out and log in again to check if the 'All Report' exists.
  • If not, proceed to the 2nd step:

  1. Clone the template as described in Creating reports from report templates.
  • If the 2nd step did not solve the issue, go to the 3rd step.
  1. Import and export report as explained in Importing and exporting reports.
  • Request that TAC export the template (based on firmware).
  • The export/import works only one-by-one report, meaning it will not be possible to select all the reports and import them at once (but it will be necessary to import each report separately).
  • If the 3rd step did not resolve an issue, go to the the 4th step.
  1. Create a New ADOM (that will create default reports), and move the device to this new ADOM. The historical log (archive), will be transferred when doing so it will be necessary to recreate the custom report in the new ADOM as well as the events and other related ADOM config.

  2. Missing reports might be a symptom of not following the upgrade path or an attempt to downgrade.  Either of those steps may result in the corruption of underlying databases.  If that is the case, a fresh install is recommended as outlined in the FortiAnalyzer upgrade guide under the section entitled 'Downgrading to previous firmware versions'.
