Technical Tip: Management IP for Fortinet VM products

Description

 
This article provides information concerning the management IP for the VM (Virtual Machine).


Scope

 
  • FortiManager VM (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, XEN).
  • FortiAnalyzer VM (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, XEN).
  • FortiAuthenticator (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V).
  • FortiSandbox (KVM, VMware).


Solution

 
Irrespective of any HYPERVISOR/CLOUD platform, the following apply for FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSandbox, and FortiAuthenticator:
  • The management IP should be specified on any one of the ports (interfaces) in the VM.
  • It must be specified so that the license will be activated.
  • The Support portal will allow the Management IP to be changed a maximum of 5 times.
