Technical Tip: How to enable FortiManager feature in FortiAnalyzer
Description
This article describes how to enable FortiManager feature in FortiAnalyzer.
Scope
- For FortiAnalyzer model 1000E and above , they come with a free license to manage up to two FortiGate when FortiManager features has been enabled.
- For FortiAnalyzer model with a two rack unit(2 U) and above, buy a management license to enable the FortiAnalyzer to manage up to 20 FortiGate.
- FortiManager features in FortiAnalyzer can be enabled except FortiGuard.
Solution
In some situation in the system, a request to use only the basic feature of FortiManager can appear.
In case the FortiAnalyzer which matches the requirements above, it is possible enable FortiManager features from GUI or CLI as below.
Solution to fix the issue:
From GUI.
- Go to System Settings ->-Dashboard ->System Information widget, toggle the FortiManager switch to 'On'.
From CLI command
Then FortiAnalyzer home page will show FortiManager features except FortiGuard.

set fmg-status enable

- After the FortiAnalyzer reboots and log in to FortiAnalyzer GUI.
