Technical Tip: How to save and download debug file

This article describes how to save copies of debug file, and download it, in order to provide for TAC support.

Scope

FortiADC.

Solution

The FortiADC debug feature allows to compile a set of debug info.

Steps to save and download debug file:

1. Go to System -> Debug.
   
   

Note: If the 'Debug' menu is not displayed, first go to System -> Feature Visibility and select 'Debug'.

2. Select 'Save Debug File'.

3. Select 'Close' to acknowledge the pop-up message box.

4. Wait for the running status to change from 'Running' to 'Ready', then start to download the debug file by selecting the download icon.

Note: Debug files contain a substantial amount of debug information. As such, the file size does not need to be small in size. Additional reference can be found in this document: Debug.
