Description

This article describes the steps to expand FortiADC-VM logdisk size.

Scope

FortiADC, FortiADC-VM.

Solution

Prerequisite:

  • Log in access to the Virtualization host server.

  • The logdisk size cannot be reduced after expansion.

Steps:

The FortiADC-VM has a default logdisk drive size of 30GB. The logdisk drive can be expanded by following these steps.

  1. In FortiADC CLI access, check the current logdisk drive size.

  1. To begin the disk expansion, shut down the FortiADC-VM. Log in to the virtualization host and adjust the logdisk size. This FortiADC-VM is hosted in an ESXi host; in this case, the similar steps can be applied to other host types, but in a different GUI/CLI interface. Power on the FortiADC-VM after increasing the virtual disk size.

  1. The virtual disk size shows the updated size, but the logical partition size is still showing the old size. Run the command to perform the logdisk size format and resize. This should also reboot the FortiADC-VM.

Command:

execute formatlogdisk

Output:

  1. After the FortiADC-VM formatted the logdisk and rebooted, the logical logdisk partition size should be expanded now.
